Now That’s What I Call Motivation

February 23, 2010

NBC announcer: “When bobsled driver Kaillie Humphries was 12, she challenged her family to all get tattoos if she made an Olympic team.”

Me (to my mother, who still doesn’t like looking at my inked foot): “Ma, if I publish my book, can we get matching tattoos?”

My mother: “Okay.”

Me: “What? Seriously?”

My mother: “Yes, sure.”

My father: “I’ll get one, too!”

Me: “…”

What a kickass (and utterly unexpected) incentive! Excuse me, I think I have some writing to do…
